Have the day off tomorrow and thinking of trying out Sargent for the first time. Hopefully since it's a Tuesday it'll be a light crowd and I'll have the beach to myself. Anyone been since the storm or have tips / info on the beach in general recently?

I, too, am interested in trying Sargent Beach. I live in the southwest part of the Houston metro area, so, Sargent would be a conveniently-located alternative to driving to High Island, and much closer than routing through Port Arthur.

i now have a bike fast enough to make that trip and be able to drive on the beach so i might try this beach this year sometimes. i just wish they would open mcfadden beach. i miss going down there and finding things to play with. i think that work being done there they are milking the job just for the extra money. i just want to go down and relax and milk a few things myself.

Is there nudity at Sargent? I am wondering this, myself. I just used a map app that showed Sargent to be even closer than High Island, by a considerable margin, resulting in several fewer gallons of gasoline being burned, per trip. I will try to visit Sargent, in the coming week. Any place can be “nude beach,” if one builds a visual barrier of coolers, beach chairs, and such things, and, remains alert for approached families and LE, but, I hope to find a place where I can hope to move about somewhat more freely, unclothed, away from my vehicle, even if it does mean keeping an extra-long T-shirt handy, to cover-up, when a vehicle approaches. |
