Hi everyone! Was thinking about going this weekend. Is it open or closed during this time? Also can I bring a tent and chairs there? Never been. What’s a good time to go?

Beach is open as far as I know. I go when it’s warm and sunny. Low tide best, especially if you don’t have 4WD. Tents and chairs are a bonus! Go at least 3 miles up the beach from the highway, if you plan on butt nekkid fun! Keep an eye out for Game Warden/ LEO’s, cause nekkid ain’t legal unfortunately! Have fun/ be safe if you make it out there!

The beach is definitely open! Lately there have been a lot of Jeep clubs romping up and down the beach, some with families so be sure to have something handy to cover up with. If you plan to spend the night, be sure to bring plenty of bug spray as the mosquitos can get pretty bad depending on the time of year and especially bad if there is no wind to keep them at bay.

I’ve found out the hard way, but bugs/mosquitos can be absolutely horrible with any kind of a northerly breeze. The best is a good SE to SW breeze to keep them pushed off the beach.

$!%!^&!#! THE BOTS ARE BACK. I just don't understand why the moderator can't delete these. Hell I'll do it if I had the necessary permissions to be a moderator.

Yep! Saw the bot post the other day! Too bad the moderator(s) don’t appear to monitor this site very often or they just don’t care.

I was there for the first time and I saw a couple of nudes but I wasn't sure if it was safe for me to get nude or not since I could notice the two nude people where kind of uneasy or acting with distrust, plus I don't know all the rules or how everything plays there. None of the less, I really enjoyed being there briefly.
I definitely would like to go more frequently everytime there is an opportunity for me to go and I will make sure to get me some cold drinks, a canopy and a chair plus mosquito spray in case the bugs show up.

If you happen to see nudies, let the nudies see you nude, then they won’t have reservations about you. Don’t just sit and stare! Drive on by or stop and say howdy. It is illegal to be nude on the beach and it’s a gamble whether you chance getting caught. The State Game Warden is most often the one to catch people nude, but I believe sheriffs deputies may show up as well. You need to keep your eyes out for them and just make sure you’re covered if they drive by. The more nudies in close proximity creates a bit of security with more eyes looking for law enforcement. Then you have to worry about the family groups and prudes that may feel the need to call and report on you. Hope this helps! Stay nekkid friend!

Thanks a lot for the info. It makes sense. Next time I go there I will make sure I take my binoculars with me to help watch. I'm planing on going this coming Tuesday or Wednesday but I hope the sand is not so soft since my vehicle is a 2wd and definitely don't want to get stuck there. Once again bud, thanks for the heads up.

Just be sure to drive in at least three miles if you are starting at High Island so that way you are out of Galveston County. The GW drives around in an truck that is nearly unmarked until it gets close enough to see the subdued markings but by then it's too late so always cover up if you are not sure about who is coming up/down the beach (they can come in from both directions). Most people are very friendly and if you do get stuck, just wait for a bit as there are plenty of 4x4's who will stop and give you a pull. I've pulled several people out myself. There are also lots of families out, driving up and down the beach so just be respectful. I usually drive in about 10 miles or so, fewer people that far in and less traffic.
