Hello all, not much happening lately in this room so thought I would start a new thread and maybe kickstart the conversation again. I must admit that I have not been on here in awhile as it seems every time this site gets going, the BOTS start hitting the site again. Hope everyone is enjoying the beach and making new friends, let's all just get naked and party!

I have mostly been posting on the other board, the companion to this one. My truck is 2WD, so I have not been all the way to the established “nude” area, in several years. I bought two additional wheel rims, but have yet to buy sand-oriented tires for them. Actually, with all of the attention that the McFaddin NWR has been getting, from the federal game warden, I wonder if it is better to be discretely nude outside of the NWR boundaries. When I used to visit the beach, in the Eighties and Nineties, discreet nude use started within two to three miles of High Island. (One had to be alert for approaching vehicles, but that is easier, today, because there is no more high dune, hiding a paved highway.)
In the Eighties, I rigged a small anchor, a fishing stringer, and a float, to which one could clip swimsuits. This enabled having a thong or swimsuit handy, while out in the water, in case anyone stopped and parked close enough to be able to discern nudity. I rarely used this rig, as my then-girlfriend usually kept her teeny thong bottom around her waist, though with the little triangle shoved to one side. She would have been able to run ashore, and get my swimsuit, if necessary. This is a reminder, that I need to build another such rig, soon.
By the Nineties, when I had another girlfriend who loved the Bolivar-McFaddin area, the dunes were gone, so it was possible to see long distances, for the approach of vehicles. She was not as much of a swimmer, so we stayed nearer my SUV. As we rarely did more than wade, about knee-deep, my anchor/stringer/float rig was no applicable. These were good days, as we NEVER saw law enforcement, during this time, though we quite frequently were at the beach.
One reason I bought a long-bed pickup truck was to be able to be nude, outdoors, without folks being able to see anything “lewd,” unless I were to stand up, or they were to walk right up to the truck. Because I do not “sun,” for its own sake, but am usually scanning for wildlife and birds, I can cover myself, as needed. Usually, at the beach, I wear a hoody, if not in the water, unless it is VERY hot. The sun did enough damage to my upper body, in the Eighties and Nineties, that getting a deep tan is just not a thing, anymore. (My legs sustained less damage, as they were often covered by a kayak deck.)
I only mentioned girlfriends, above, but I am bi, and could potentially be attracted to male, female, or someone anywhere along the LGBTQ spectrum.

Chevy00guy, what is Matagorda like compared to McFaddin as far as the beach is concerned? Do a lot of nudists go there? What is the law enforcement presence? Sorry for all of the questions, never been to Matagorda and wasn't aware that it was a nudist hangout. I've only heard about McFaddin, Padre Island, and Hippie Hollow.

Hi everybody - new member. Hoping to make it out there soon. It's a trek from Katy. Welcome to the site and you will definitely enjoy the beach. If you go for a long run, be sure to carry something with you to slip on in case a vehicle approaches as there are occasionally families that will drive the beach and once in a while, the Game Warden who will give you a ticket if you are completely nude.

Oh, I don't actually run naked. That name has a little story behind it. I do run, but with running shorts. Since I was shirtless, one of the neighbor ladies often said I was running naked. As a joke, my wife bought me a sign for my home brewery that says, "Naked Runner Brewing". Ah, good times! Maybe I should make that my avatar.

Have you thought about going to Matagorda Beach? Might be closer to you. Matagorda is a much bigger beach, meaning distance from water to dunes. It’s much easier to access although you will encounter loose sand in some areas so a 4x4 is required most of the time to get to where you can get nude. Yes, it does attract some nudist at the 10+ mile area. McFaddin beach is more social. We have been nude at Matagorda many many times over the years and have never had anyone stop to say hey and never done it to anyone else. Not to say it never happens but I’ve never seen it done. Sheriff deputies do patrol the first 3-5 miles, depending on crowd, but we have never seen one at the 10+ mile mark. They have their hands full dealing with the crowds and don’t have a reason to hassle nudists that far down. They don’t bother anyone. Please don’t give them a reason to do so, wife and I get amorous often but don’t put it on public display for that reason. I suppose it’s possible a game warden could venture down that far but they wouldn’t be looking to hassle nudist. Just be discreet and they would probably pass on by. You can see a vehicle coming and there is no back road for them to sneak up on you on, like at McFaddin. So if you are engaged in somethIng with someone you would have time to finish up or take a break while the vehicle passes. When we see a vehicle coming we just sit in our chairs or tailgate. If the wife is tanning she will throw a towel or t shirt over her and we’ve never had any problems. If you go just find a place 10+ miles down that’s not right beside another vehicle. If they are obviously nudists they won’t care if you are nude. If it’s a family that is down there for some reason, give them more room. Fishermen don’t care, just watch for kids, don’t give the deputies a reason to go down there and we can keep our nudist beach area. Hope this helps.

Except for the spam-bots, this board has been mostly quiet, so, I thought I would post something. I will try to get our aging Jeep TJ Wranger road-worthy, again, in the coming week or two, now that the infusion of dinero has reached the bank. I have thought about trying the beach, today, in my 2WD Tundra, but will probably not venture far from the Highway 124 @ 87 junction, at High Island. The low tides, for the next few days, are showing to be well above the 0 mark, so not very low.
I do not, necessarily, feel that I must go all the way to the “established” nude area, east of the Galveston County line, as I usually wear a hoody, so, from a distance, appear to be legally covered, while “the boys” are able to breathe freely. By the name a vehicle approaches close enough to matter, I can already be discretely covered, with no need to perform that clumsy dance to step into a thong or shorts. I got more than enough sun, on my shoulders and arms, in the Eighties and Nineties, to last a lifetime, and have found some “Tropical” hoodies that I really love, that do not detract from enjoying the beach. (I can get enough sun, shirtless, at home, in the backyard, to avoid total upper-body whiteness.)
I also want to check-out Matagorda Beach, soon. The entire beach, from Sabine Pass to High Island, has been goin downhill, for recreational purposes, since the early Eighties, as each successive storm erodes more sand, that never fully recovers before the next storm. The rivers that empty into the Gulf, farther south than the Galveston Bay watershed, get far more sand flowing down those less-dammed rivers. Plus, McFaddin gets so much attention from law enforcement, in recent years. Matagorda, and points south, are seeming more appealing.
